It is a follow up to the first issue of the SADC Gender Monitor produced in 1999. This second issue is a culmination of extensive research which takes up the critical thematic concerns raised in the first issue, including the girl child, health, education, power sharing and decision-making, poverty and economy, women\u2019s human and legal rights as well as emergent issues such as HV\/AIDS.
