Story on Women in construction
The department of Public works in SA has a Women empowerment unit. Women have to form groups of up to15 to 40 and are trained in applying for government building tenders. After being awarded tenders, for which they access money, they build houses, which are intended for the needy within their communities. This is contributing to the economic empowerment of women. -
Story on women in mining
“I was at Bambanani mine where twenty five women work underground. Please look out for this story today …Economic desk will use the mine story ahead of the National Women's Day tomorrow. Then other news bulletins will use it again this evening. On SABC 2, at half-past 8 this evening, the Sesotho bulletin will again use it. If it's possible for other colleagues to see it, let them know. Morning Live on SABC 2 will use it some time next week since this whole month is dedicated to women. -
