Story on Women in construction
The department of Public works in SA has a Women empowerment unit. Women have to form groups of up to15 to 40 and are trained in applying for government building tenders. After being awarded tenders, for which they access money, they build houses, which are intended for the needy within their communities. This is contributing to the economic empowerment of women. - Broadcast on SABC on June 25 & 26
