a regional news features service Southern African News Features;
a twice yearly bibliography and quarterly acquisitions list;
a series of 14 policy review briefs on 20 years of SADC integration in a number of areas, including trade, transport, natural resources, agriculture, education, finance, etc. written and reviewed by experts in the SADC region;
and is establishing
a Tradewatch website for the region; and
an accessible data base of regional expertise and consultants, working with national partners such as trade organisations and universities, to first develop national data bases.
Project is funded by the African Development Bank (ADB).
Information 21 is a forthcoming project which aims to raise awareness of SADC and its activities as a regional community, and to strengthen capacity in the SADC region to store,
retrieve and use relevant information, with the objective of
improving information flow, within and outside southern Africa,
based on a regional perspective. This partnership with the SADC
Secretariat, Inter Press Service (IPS) and Southern Africa
Broadcasting Association (SABA), is to be funded by Belgian
Technical Cooperation.
Information is a key strategic resource for socio-economic development.
