Collection of information
IMERCSA collects and documents environment, water and disaster management information with particular focus on the member states of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The collected materials are catalogued and processed into a bibliographic database, which has more than 7,000 records. A separate contacts and experts database lists individual experts and organisations involved in environment, water and disaster management issues in the SADC region. The experts database, also available online, has more than a thousand entries and undergoes constant updating. Expertsquestionnaire is available for download for individuals who wish to update their details and for new entries. The information in these databases is available to policy planners, researchers, diplomats, journalists and others through a library reading room and internet search facilities
